There is an expression… “Where there is smoke, there is fire.” I have been practicing as an Attorney for 40 years. I cannot prove that any judge I have appeared before is corrupt. But I see lots of smoke, so there is probably a fire somewhere.
Conservatorship Courts have been in the news with serious allegations of corruption. We all saw the Britney Spears drama, and I am 100% convinced that corruption was involved in the Los Angeles Probate Court (lots of evidence leads me to that conclusion).
In Orange County, I have read the sad tale of corruption in the case of my former mentor, Judge Betty Lou Lamoureux. I know there is a lot of evidence of corruption in Orange County Probate Court too.
I am on a crusade to keep people out of the messy, expensive, and perhaps corrupt probate court both in life and in death.
How?
- Proper planning.
- Family meetings (a form of mediation).
- Preventing Trusts from failing for the same reason my in-laws’ Trust failed (we had to go to court to remove my mother-in-law who did not see her own dementia).
