This is a frequent summer scam. You get a text or Facebook post about a friend stranded. They will claim to have had their money, phone and identification stolen and need money sent via Western Union, Zelle or another way money is sent but can’t be traced easily.
Be careful. Try to call them or their other friends; chances are 99% that they are not stranded. You can’ trust emails, texts, or Facebook posts about needing money.
