I don’t have any grandchildren, but this year I’ve bought extra toys to donate to toy drives. My children were fortunate to grow up with parents and grandparents who made sure they had everything they wanted (though thankfully, no one ever asked for a pony). Sadly, not all children are so lucky.
While Christmas is a time of giving, the need for generosity extends year-round. Charitable giving is a meaningful way to make a difference throughout the year. You can even incorporate charitable gifts into your estate plan, which can help you support causes you care about while also saving your family from potential estate taxes.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of distributing estate funds to charities on behalf of clients. I’ve also helped individuals create charitable plans that provide care for themselves during their lifetimes while ensuring their legacy supports a cause they value. As we enter this season of giving, it’s a wonderful time to reflect on how you might include charitable giving in your plans.
