Have you ever had a clogged drain? Did you use Drano or call a plumber?
Drano will unclog your pipes and can start the process of causing a leak. Drano saves money in the short-term, but every plumber will tell you never to use it and that instead, you should call them to get rid of the leak.
If you call a plumber and they tell you the cost will be thousands, you may be tempted to just get the Drano. It’s only a clog. Super simple. You can’t understand how it could cost so much just to clear a clog.
I know nothing about plumbing; I know how to get hair out of the shower drain, but that’s all. If I use the simple Drano solution, I could easily destroy my pipes and then the thousands the plumber originally quoted could climb to double, triple or even more than it would have cost if I called a plumber originally. I wouldn’t know what my Drano solution actually cost me until leaks start.
