Protecting Our Loved Ones from Information Theft Traps

I am on a scam prevention crusade! Why? Because this month, I have had several people call me who were scammed!

Two people told me the same story – they bought something from an online retailer, one from Etsy and one from Amazon. Their packages did not arrive. They called customer support, but the number they called was FAKE. They had found the number on Google, and it connected them to scammers. One person gave out their information and later told their daughter, who was able to cancel the charges found on their debit card. This person is now updating all their documents and having their daughter take over due to this being the third time they’ve given out information to the wrong people.

The other person was suspicious right away and did not give out their information. They also became a new client who is updating everything, adding a co-trustee, and asking their adult children to help them. They know that no matter how smart you are, as you age, you become more vulnerable to scams.
