How I Help Families Facing the Hardest Parts of Dementia

I recently saw a commercial for a new drug aimed at helping manage aggression associated with some forms of Alzheimer’s and Dementia. I truly hope it’s as effective as advertised. It’s one of the rare times I’ve seen the challenging side of dementia acknowledged in the media—behaviors like aggression, hypersexuality, inappropriate speech, wandering and getting lost, lack of bladder and bowel control, and other heartbreaking challenges families face.

Alzheimer’s and Dementia are devastating diseases, and facing these behaviors can feel overwhelming. It can seem like your loved one has become a stranger. Navigating their care is an immense challenge, but there is hope, and you can get through it. From my own experience and those of my clients, I’ve found many resources to support families through these difficult times. I guide my clients as they journey through the complexities of Alzheimer’s and Dementia, helping them find the support they need.
