Reflecting on 41 Years of Serving Families and Individuals

I’m incredibly grateful for every client and family I’ve had the honor to serve. Over my 41 years of practice, I’ve helped so many people in different stages of life. In my early years, most of my clients were filing for divorces, and I handled some criminal defense (often alongside my former boss) and a variety of cases, from Wills and Trusts to contract disputes. One of my cases even involved a successful fight with the City of Brea, which led to an opportunity to work for their City Attorney. As the primary litigator for the firm, I spent long hours in court and office.

When my children arrived, I found myself missing the chance to help individuals directly. One wrongful death case in particular highlighted the importance of estate planning. The person in this case was young, successful, and had a Living Trust and life insurance. Although the settlement required Probate Court involvement, the advanced planning meant his children were minimally impacted, with the probate process being as smooth and manageable as possible.

This experience sparked my interest in estate planning. When my son turned one, I opened my own estate planning practice and soon expanded to include Elder Law, fulfilling a longtime desire to serve the elderly and those living with disabilities. I discovered the specialized planning required to protect the public benefits that many depend on for their care.
